Dadan Hindayana, a suspect in an alleged corruption case concerning the management of the free nutritious meal program (MBG), was placed in a detention vehicle after being questioned at the Office of the Attorney General in Jakarta on June 3, 2026. The arrest of the former head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), along with several other high-ranking agency officials, is seen as proof of Tiyo Ardianto's criticisms. Previously, the former Chair of the Gadjah Mada University Student Executive Board (BEM UGM) was reported to the police by government supporters for alleged slander for calling the MBG program "A Thief Under the Guise of Nutrition." TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The investigators from the Attorney General's Office have extended the detention period for three former leaders of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), who have been named suspects in a corruption case involving the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. The former Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, and his two deputies, Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung, have been in custody for twenty days.

"The investigators have extended it to 40 days," said the Head of the Legal Information Center of the Attorney General's Office, Anang Supriatna, when confirmed on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Dadan Hindayana and his deputies were named suspects on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. The three of them were immediately detained on the same day, even though President Prabowo Subianto had just dismissed them from their positions the day before.

In addition to the three former BGN leaders, the investigators have also named Asep Yusuf Somantri and the Commissioner of PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal, Andri Mulyono, as suspects. PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal is the supplier of electric motorcycles for BGN. Later, the public prosecutor again named another suspect, the Chair of the Indonesia Food Security Review Foundation, Glory Harimas Sihombing.

In the MBG corruption case, the public prosecutor stated that there was intervention in the verification process to pass the kitchen or nutrition service units (SPPG) that did not meet the requirements. These SPPGs are suspected to be managed by a foundation controlled by Dadan and others. The prosecutor also found a modus operandi of buying and selling SPPG locations.

Another corruption scheme discovered by the prosecutor is the intervention in the procurement project at BGN, including the procurement of 21,801 electric motorcycles, 32,000 pairs of shoes, 31,994 tablet computers, and 5,400 75-inch televisions.

Of the six individuals named as suspects, Sony Sonjaya has chosen to become a justice collaborator. This term refers to witnesses who cooperate with law enforcement. However, the public prosecutor rejected this request. Sony is now making a similar request to the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK).
