TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In his address at the Plenary Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) outlining the Macroeconomic Framework and Key Fiscal Policies for the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN), President Prabowo Subianto set the target for the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar within a range of Rp16,800 to Rp17,500 for the 2027 fiscal year.
"Our fiscal and monetary strategies must be ones that are able to maintain the stability of our currency," Prabowo stated during the 19th DPR Plenary Session on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
Compared to the 2026 State Budget, this targeted range marks an increase from the previously established baseline of Rp16,500 per US dollar.
In addition to the exchange rate, the Head of State announced several core macroeconomic assumptions anchoring the 2027 RAPBN, with Prabowo aiming for an economic growth rate of 5.8 to 6.5 percent.
For the inflation rate, the government is targeting a corridor of 1.5 to 3.5 percent, while the yield for 10-year government bonds is projected at 6.5 to 7.3 percent.
Meanwhile, the target for the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) is set between US$70 and US$95 per barrel. Domestic oil lifting is expected to reach 602,000 to 615,000 barrels per day, while the Head of State targets natural gas lifting to hit between 934,000 and 977,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
