TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta has recorded an investment realization of Rp173.6 trillion in the first semester of 2026, which accounts for 17.2 percent of the total national realized investment.
Data from the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming—also known as the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM)—indicates that these investments originated from both domestic and foreign capital sources. South Jakarta emerged as the region with the highest realized investment, amounting to Rp62.7 trillion.
Heru Hermawanto, Head of the Jakarta Investment and Integrated One-Stop Services (DPMPTSP), said this achievement positions Jakarta as the province with the highest realized investment in Indonesia for the first half of the year.
"This achievement demonstrates that Jakarta remains a prime investment destination in Indonesia," he said in a press release on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
Following South Jakarta, the next highest investment realization was recorded in Central Jakarta (Rp49.9 trillion), North Jakarta (Rp23.1 trillion), West Jakarta (Rp20.6 trillion), and East Jakarta (Rp17.1 trillion). Meanwhile, the Seribu Islands recorded realized investments of Rp289 billion.
The transportation, warehouse, and telecom sector was the largest contributor, accounting for Rp54.3 trillion, or 31 percent of Jakarta's total investment. The "other services" sector attracted Rp43.6 trillion (25 percent), followed by the trade and repair sector at Rp28.4 trillion (16 percent).
Investments in the housing, industrial estate, and office sectors reached Rp14 trillion. The construction sector recorded Rp12.9 trillion, while other sectors cumulatively contributed Rp20.3 trillion.
This composition indicates that investment in Jakarta continues to rely on the services sector and urban connectivity, aligning with the agenda to transform Jakarta into a global city.
