TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Beyonce Knowles-Carter has marked the 20th anniversary of her landmark sophomore album, B'Day, with a expanded deluxe edition released on September 3, 2026, one day before her 45th birthday.
As reported by USA Today, the 31-track digital reissue expands her 2006 project with previously unreleased tracks, including "Creole," "Lost Yo Mind," "My First Time," "Back Up," and "Can I Watch You" featuring Pharrell Williams.
In addition to the digital release, physical collectibles have been made available, including a deluxe vinyl packaged with a 60-page booklet of era imagery and a standalone anniversary CD.
Among the additions, a new version of her hit single "Irreplaceable," titled "Irreemplazable (Como La Flor)," has drawn attention for featuring vocals from the late Tejano icon Selena. According to Complex, the track samples Selena’s 1992 hit "Como La Flor" and was officially approved by her estate.
A press release cited by Variety noted that Beyonce grew up listening to Selena on Houston radio and credited the late singer with inspiring her 2007 Spanish-language project Irreemplazable.
In response to mixed reactions from fans regarding the new track, Selena’s widower Chris Perez defended the collaboration on Instagram. “Some of you can be a bit much at times. In my opinion, nobody will ever, CAN ever, top Selena’s performance. But, dammit…can’t you just appreciate that another iconic/amazing artist (Beyoncé) chose to highlight Selena in this way? ESPECIALLY in today’s musical climate?,” Perez wrote.
USA Today added that the anniversary project also features a Spanish-language rendition of "Get Me Bodied" featuring Colombian singer Maluma.
The album’s arrival completes a 60-day rollout that began on July 4 with the official release of "Morning Dew (Donk)," followed by an August 4 remix pack featuring Jay-Z that incorporated samples from Soulja Boy, Sheck Wes, and The Isley Brothers.
The original 13-track B'Day album was released on September 4, 2006, by Columbia Records, Music World Entertainment, and Sony Urban Music. The project yielded six commercial singles, including "Déjà Vu," "Irreplaceable," "Get Me Bodied," and "Green Light," and earned the Best Contemporary R&B Album award at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in 2007.
The release coincides with milestone anniversaries for Jay-Z, who is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. As noted by USA Today, Jay-Z is scheduled to perform at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 4, prompting fan speculation regarding a possible joint stage appearance.
