TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Apple is rumored to launch its first iPhone Fold in 2026, with a price range estimated between US$2,100 and US$2,300. With the US dollar exchange rate as of April 19, 2025, at Rp16,864, the price is equivalent to Rp35.4 million to Rp38.8 million.
This information comes from information leaker 'Instant Digital' via the Weibo platform, which states that the price estimate is based on Apple's current profit margin.
If true, the iPhone Fold’s price range will be higher than its main competitors, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 which is priced from US$1,899 (around Rp31.9 million) and the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold for US$1,799 (around Rp30.3 million).
The foldable device is expected to have a 5.5-inch front screen and a 7.8-inch flexible main screen. The device is also expected to use a liquid metal hinge that is claimed to be stronger than titanium. The thickness of the iPhone Fold when unfolded is expected to be around 4.5-4.8 mm and 9-9.5 mm when folded.
With a price that nearly doubles that of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which is currently sold starting at US$1,199 (around Rp20.2 million), the iPhone Fold is positioned as a premium device targeting the upper market segment. However, Apple has not yet provided official confirmation regarding the specifications or price of this device.
