TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to launch an artificial intelligence (AI) avatar trained using data such as his speeches, writings, and government policies.
As reported by Anadolu, this move makes him one of the few world leaders introducing a digital version of himself to interact with the public.
Developed by Zetrix AI and named PMX AI, the avatar is expected to start operating in the coming days. “AI will transform governance and politics,” Zetrix group managing director TS Wong said, as quoted from The Straits Time.
According to the Prime Minister's Office on Friday, July 10, 2026, this avatar is designed to help the people of Malaysia access government services. This includes renewing driver's licenses, making payments, and seeking education or job opportunities.
This AI system is capable of communicating in English and Malay, understanding regional dialects and slang language, and learning continuously from the Prime Minister's latest speeches to improve its responses.
Authorities stated that the Parti Keadilan Rakyat-backed initiative is part of Malaysia's broader efforts to integrate AI into public services and digital governance.
The Prime Minister’s Office has produced a launch video to introduce the program.
“No leader can be everywhere, at every moment. That is the reality,” the narration begins.
“It’s not merely an avatar. It is a digital extension of myself. Ready to listen, assist and serve the people.”
