TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Global aerospace company Boeing and Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) launched BUILD Indonesia 2026 on Monday, May 4, 2026, as a collaboration aimed at developing innovators in the aerospace and technology fields in Indonesia.

"BUILD reflects Boeing's long-term commitment in Indonesia and our investment in the development of local talent," said Indra Duivenvoorde, Managing Director of Boeing Indonesia, in a statement received by Tempo on Tuesday.

"Bandung has played a significant role in the history of Indonesia's aerospace industry, particularly through its technical education institutions and technology. Through collaboration with ITB, we aim to equip the next generation of Indonesian innovators with the skills, network, and global perspectives needed to contribute to the continuously evolving aerospace and technology ecosystem in Indonesia," he added.

Indra stated that the program connects participants with Boeing experts, industry mentors, and ITB's innovation ecosystem through experiential learning models that include workshops, mentoring sessions, boot camps, and idea incubation support.

Running from May to September 2026, BUILD is designed to help participants validate and refine ideas relevant to the market needs, culminating in a final demonstration and award ceremony.

Bandung Institute of Technology Rector Prof. Tatacipta Dirgantara expressed pride in collaborating with Boeing to launch BUILD in Indonesia.

"This initiative provides a valuable platform for students and early-stage innovators to develop impactful solutions in the aerospace field, while harnessing ITB's research strengths and innovation history," he stated.

BUILD Indonesia 2026 is part of Boeing's broader efforts to support talent development and innovation across Southeast Asia, while strengthening its long-term partnership with the aerospace sector and educational institutions in Indonesia.
