TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced disruptions on the evening of November 18, 2025, leaving many users unable to access the service. Reports indicated that issues began around 06:00 PM WIB, affecting both the website and the mobile app.
Tempo also attempted to access X through the app and found the homepage failed to load even as of 8:21 PM WIB (Western Indonesia Time).
Users encountered error messages such as “Posts aren’t loading right now. Try again” and “An error was encountered, try again” when trying to view tweets. Comments, quote retweets, and new posts also failed to load.
According to The Economic Times, the disruption was linked to a widespread issue affecting Cloudflare, whose network outage impacted multiple major platforms, including Facebook, Amazon Web Services, OpenAI, and even the DownDetector disruption tracking site, which struggled due to a surge in user reports.
Cloudflare confirmed the issue, describing it as a “major issue” affecting their global network. Their system status dashboard reported widespread error 500 messages and failures in both dashboard and API services.
The outage affected X users worldwide, not just in Indonesia. Many reported being unable to refresh timelines, post updates, or log into accounts, though some desktop users regained limited access after refreshing the page.
On X’s DownDetector page, roughly 58 percent of complaints came from mobile app users, while 32 percent were related to website loading problems. Affected users typically received notifications indicating an “internal server error on the Cloudflare network.”
