TEMPO.COJakarta - President Prabowo Subianto presided over the commemoration ceremony for Pancasila Sanctity Day 2025 at Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta, on October 1, 2025.

The President, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, arrived at 7:57 a.m. Prabowo wore a blue suit, a white shirt and tie, and a black kufi cap for the occasion.

Prabowo served as the Inspector of the Ceremony. Aviation Colonel M. Amry Taufany was the first Ceremony Commander, while Infantry Colonel Didin Nasruddin Darsono served as the second Commander. Brigadier General Fitriana Nur Heru Wibawa acted as the Ceremony Officer.

The ceremony took place on the field directly in front of the Pancasila Sakti Monument. It commenced with the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by a moment of silence led by President Prabowo.

"Let us take a moment to remember the spirit and services of the revolutionary heroes and our predecessors who sacrificed for the sovereignty, honor, and independence of the Indonesian nation and to uphold Pancasila. Let's take a moment of silence, begin!" Prabowo declared at the monument's ceremony field.

Following the moment of silence, the official proceedings continued with Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly, Ahmad Muzani, reading the Pancasila text (the five principles of the national ideology).

Subsequently, the Deputy Speaker of the Regional Representatives Council, Yorris Raweyai, read the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, then read the official pledge.

Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, concluded by leading the prayer reading. The entire ceremony ended with the playing of the Andika Bhayangkari and Indonesia Raya songs.

Flag Protocol: Half-Mast Directive

In conjunction with the commemoration, the government had flown the Indonesian flag at half-mast at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

This action was a directive issued by the Ministry of Culture urging government institutions and the public to fly the flag at half-mast on September 30 to honor the day preceding Pancasila Sanctity Day.

The directive is contained in a circular from the Ministry of Culture, numbered 8417/MK.L/TU.02.03/2025, signed by Minister Fadli Zon on September 17, 2025.

The circular also directed institutions and the public to raise the flag to full mast on October 1, 2025, to formally commemorate Pancasila Sanctity Day.

Minister Fadli Zon added that the theme for the October 1 ceremony was "Pancasila: The Unifying Pillar of the Nation Towards Great Indonesia."
