TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was seen speaking with U.S. President Donald Trump during the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, on Monday, October 13, 2025.
During the brief exchange, Prabowo asked Trump to arrange a meeting with his son, Eric Trump, who serves as Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization.
Citing Channel NewsAsia (CNA) and Reuters, the conversation occurred shortly after Trump delivered a speech to world leaders announcing the Gaza peace deal.
Unbeknownst to both presidents, their microphones were still on, and their conversation was recorded.
“Can I meet Eric?” Prabowo was heard asking in a video shared by Reuters on Monday, October 13.
Trump replied that he would have Eric call Prabowo, describing his son as “a very good boy.”
“I’ll have Eric call. Should I do that? He’s such a good boy. I’ll have Eric call,” Trump said.
Prabowo then suggested finding a more private place to continue their talk by saying, “We’ll look for a better place,” to which Trump reiterated, “I’ll have Eric call you.”
Both Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. are sons of the U.S. president and hold senior positions in the Trump Organization. According to the company’s official website, Eric Trump serves as Executive Vice President, while Donald Trump Jr. holds the position of Executive Vice President as well.
The Trump Organization owns, operates, and invests in residential properties, hotels, resorts, towers, and golf courses in several countries. It also controls several hectares of prime real estate in Manhattan.
Tempo has reached out to State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Head of the Government Communication Agency Angga Raka Prabowo to inquire about the purpose of Prabowo’s request to meet Eric Trump, but neither has responded.
