TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jasa Marga, Indonesia's state-owned operator of the country’s toll roads, recorded 26,449 vehicles leaving Jakarta on H10 of Eid al-Fitr celebration, Wednesday, March 11, 2026, via the Mohamed Bin Zayed (MBZ) toll road.
According to Desti Anggraeni, General Manager of Operations and Maintenance at Jasa Marga Jalanlayang Cikampek, West Java, this represents a 21.4 percent increase over normal traffic levels.
Meanwhile, 23,060 vehicles were recorded entering Jakarta, a 4.39 percent rise compared to the typical 22,090 vehicles, Desti said in a written statement on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
Traffic leaving the city increased 18.3 percent in the morning, 8.6 percent during the day, and surged 60.7 percent at night. For vehicles entering Jakarta, the morning saw a 16.97 percent increase, night traffic rose 15.43 percent, while daytime traffic dropped by 8.2 percent.
Despite the higher volumes, Jasa Marga reported that traffic flowed smoothly and remained under control. Authorities urged road users to stay healthy, check their vehicles, and be prepared for possible weather changes.
“So that the journey can proceed safely and comfortably until reaching the destination,” Desti added.
Earlier, Jasa Marga projected that around 3.67 million vehicles would use toll roads during the Eid homecoming period — a 1.4 percent increase from 2025 and a 14 percent rise over normal traffic.
