TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transjakarta applies a Rp1 fare for female passengers during the celebration of Kartini Day on Monday, April 21, 2025.

Transjakarta President Director Welfizon Yuza announced that female passengers can enjoy a special Rp1 fare across the entire Transjakarta network, including both Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and non-BRT services.

"This special fare applies from 00.00 to 23.59," he said in an official statement on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Meanwhile, microtrans passengers, Transjakarta Cares users, and holders of the free service card will continue to ride for Rp0.

To support the Kartini Day fare initiative, Transjakarta has set up dedicated gates for women at all stops. In non-BRT areas, Pramusapa officers will be stationed to assist passengers.

"These officers also ensure that female customers can get the special fare," Welfizon added.

He also emphasized the Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment, through Transjakarta, to providing a public transportation system that is safe, comfortable, and inclusive.

Travelers can access route and service updates through the TJ app and Transjakarta’s official social media accounts.

Throughout 2024, Transjakarta served 371.4 million passengers, averaging over one million riders daily. Tjahyadi Dermawan, Head of the Company Secretary and Public Relations Division, credited this success to both digital innovation and service upgrades.

"The Transjakarta application, which comes with live bus tracking features, has been an important tool in enhancing customer experience, with 540,000 active users in just the last five months," he said in an official statement dated February 7, 2025.

In December 2024, Transjakarta also introduced 300 electric buses to support Jakarta’s transition toward a greener and more sustainable city. The company also reported a 3.5-fold increase in non-farebox revenue, reaching Rp218.4 billion.

This growth was driven by efforts such as asset optimization, leveraging intellectual property, and launching new services like Jakarta’s open-top city tours using double-decker buses.
