TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tottenham lost 0-2 while hosting Newcastle at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Sunday, following a 0-3 defeat to Brentford last week.
Tottenham were unable to hold off Newcastle after conceding two goals to Anthony Elanga and Yoane Wissa.
Spurs threatened through a shot by Mathys Tel, which was saved by Newcastle goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Defender Jan Paul van Hecke also created a chance for Spurs, but Ramsdale again denied the Dutchman's header.
In the second half, Newcastle broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute when Anthony Elanga converted a pass from Amar Dedic into a goal.
Newcastle doubled their lead in the 72nd minute when Yoane Wissa scored from close range in front of the Spurs goal.
Spurs had a chance to narrow the deficit through a shot by Omar Marmoush, but Ramsdale kept it out.
Spurs continued to push for a goal, but the 2-0 scoreline in Newcastle's favor remained until the final whistle.
