1. Fact Check: Clip of Iranian Missile Chasing and Blowing Up US Jet Is From a Game

A video claiming that an Iranian missile destroyed a United States fighter jet circulated on Instagram [archive], Threads, and Facebook on March 2, 2026. The footage shows a missile chasing a fighter jet while leaving a condensation trail in the sky. At the end of the clip, the missile appears to hit the aircraft’s fuselage, sending two crew members ejecting into the air.

The caption accompanying the video states that the incident shows the moment Iran crippled the United States air fleet in an initial attack on February 28, 2026. But does the video really show an Iranian missile successfully destroying a U.S. aircraft?

2. Grab Allocates Rp110 Billion in Eid Bonuses to Over 400,000 Driver

Ride-hailing company Grab Indonesia said it has distributed a total of Rp110 billion (about US$7 million) in Eid bonuses to around 400,000 driver partners ahead of the Islamic holiday.

Chief Executive Officer of Grab Indonesia, Neneng Goenadi, said the payments were completed on Monday, March 9, 2026.

“We are implementing this program responsibly while maintaining the sustainability of the ecosystem, so that Grab can continue supporting driver partners in the long term,” Neneng said in a written statement on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

3. Indonesia's US Bioethanol Import Plan Risks Double Subsidy, Trend Asia Says

An agreement to import bioethanol from the United States (US) appears in the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) between Indonesia and the US. Trend Asia believes this obligation risks creating a double burden of subsidies before it is converted into biofuel or other products.

Trend Asia's Research and Investigation Manager, Zakki Amali, stated that ethanol imported from the US is usually made from corn or starch. "When imported, it requires a subsidy, a subsidy for how this biofuel is blended," he said in a hybrid media briefing on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

According to Zakki, blending is costly, so subsidies are needed. The costs are not only incurred during the blending process, but also when the product is distributed on the market. "This also includes retail sales through gas stations; this also requires subsidies," he said.
