TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Riot Games has officially revealed the first glimpse of Valorant Mobile and announced that the mobile version of its popular tactical shooter will be launching soon in China.
According to Engadget on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, the mobile adaptation, developed by LightSpeed Studios, will be released in China before expanding to other regions.
The brief gameplay video shared by the company shows that the mobile version includes a number of on-screen buttons, retaining the fast-paced intensity of the original PC version.
The interface appears to be specifically optimized for touch controls without compromising the game's signature dynamics.
Valorant in a Nutshell
Valorant Mobile is an adaptation of the original PC version, which was first released in 2020. As described on the official Play Valorant site, the game is a competitive 5v5 first-person shooter that centers around a roster of characters called Agents, each equipped with unique abilities that can shift the course of a match.
Despite being on mobile devices, the game continues to offer a highly competitive experience, with controls tailored for touchscreens. Players engage in 13-round matches, alternating between attack and defense.
Each round features intense gunplay and strategic ability use, with only one life per round, demanding quick thinking and sharp reflexes to outlast opponents.
LightSpeed Studios, the developer behind the successful mobile adaptation of PUBG, is now applying similar expertise to Valorant, which originally relied on mouse and keyboard input.
Riot Games sees this as a logical next step, especially as mobile FPS games like PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Warzone continue to rise in popularity among gamers.
This is also not the first time Valorant has adapted to a new platform. In 2024, the game was introduced to consoles, including the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, requiring its gameplay to adjust to complex controller schemes.
According to The Verge, players in China can already pre-register for the next testing phase ahead of the official release.
Riot Games has conducted several test runs, and those who sign up for the upcoming trials will receive exclusive in-game player cards by completing specific missions.
