The trial of Indonesian former Education Minister Nadiem Makarim in the case of Chromebook laptop procurement is scheduled to be held today, Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Corruption Court of the Central Jakarta District Court.
The spokesman for the Central Jakarta District Court, M Firman Akbar, said the trial is scheduled to start at 10:00 local time in the Hatta Ali Room. "The agenda is the reading of the indictment," he said in a written statement.
He explained that this trial comes after two postponements due to Nadiem's illness. Firman hopes that the public prosecutor can bring the defendant directly to the trial.
Meanwhile, former consultant of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Ibrahim Arief, is also scheduled to undergo a separate trial today. The agenda is the interim decision on the defendant's objections.
As for the trial of Sri Wahyuningsih (Director of Elementary Schools at the Ministry of Education and Culture for the 2020-2021 period) and Mulyatsyah (Director of Junior High Schools for the 2020-2021 period), they are in the evidence stage by the prosecutor. Their trial will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Meanwhile, Nadiem's legal advisor, Ari Yusuf Amir, confirmed his client's presence at the trial today. "He will attend the trial tomorrow, although still under medical treatment," he said in a brief message on Sunday, January 4, 2025.
Ari then conveyed messages from Nadiem Makarim regarding the trial. The founder of Gojek wants his case to be resolved expeditiously.
"He wants to show the public that he is not a corruptor," said Ari.
