TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian badminton ace Jonatan Christie clinched a resounding victory at the 2025 BWF Denmark Open on Sunday, October 19, 2025, triumphing over reigning world champion Shi Yu Qi after a determined comeback in the second game. The hard-fought win marks his second title of the year, following his triumphant performance at the 2025 Korea Open last September.
These victorious matches bring flying colors to his name, ending his sub-par performance since January. “I was injured after the Indonesia Masters,” said a relieved Christie after a win over Alwi Farhan at the 2025 Korean Open. “I needed time for rehab and to strengthen my muscles and get back my confidence.”

In the final match that lasted 1 hour and 12 minutes, Jonatan showcased an outstanding performance through enduring composure.
Jonatan’s victory in the second game pushed the match into a decisive third. In this round, the Indonesian shuttler opened strong with five consecutive points, taking the lead at 5-0 and later extending it to 11-8.
After the interval, Shi Yu Qi managed to narrow the gap to 12-13, but Jonatan quickly regained control, scoring another five straight points to widen the margin to 18-12. He ultimately sealed the match by winning the deciding game 21-15.
