TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia has ensured that Indonesia will obtain supplies of crude oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from Russia. This agreement is part of the results of President Prabowo Subianto's visit to Moscow, Russia.

A day after the meeting between President Prabowo and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Kremlin Palace, Bahlil Lahadalia immediately held a face-to-face meeting with Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev. The meeting was also attended by representatives of several Russian energy companies, including Rosneft, Ruschem, Zahrubesneft, and Lukoil.

"Alhamdulillah (praise be to God) for the agreements we have reached, where we can increase our crude reserves. In addition, we will also be able to obtain LPG," Bahlil said after the meeting on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, as quoted in a written statement.

Bahlil stated that this cooperation is being explored through government-to-government (G2G) or business-to-business (B2B) schemes. This partnership is also expected to provide certainty regarding the availability of national energy reserves, especially for crude oil and LPG in Indonesia.

Furthermore, Bahlil expressed that Indonesia is open to expanding cooperation with Russia, including in the development of crude storage, long-term supply of crude oil and LPG, nuclear exploration, and cooperation in the mineral sector.

"We want all of this to truly provide certainty for national energy security," said the Chairman of the Golkar Party.

Bahlil claimed that the results of the meeting send a positive signal for strengthening national energy security amid the volatility of the world energy market influenced by geopolitical factors and production fluctuations.

He believes that partnership with Russia is an important option. This is because the Red Bear Nation has a large energy production capacity and experience in the oil and gas industry. Therefore, Russia is considered a potential partner that can be relied upon for long-term cooperation.

In this bilateral meeting, Russia expressed readiness to assist Indonesia in strengthening energy security. "As a strategic partner, we are ready to collaborate, especially in the provision of oil and gas, storage, and even nuclear power generation," said Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev.
