TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at Kirribilli House in Sydney on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. This meeting was one of the agenda items during President Prabowo's state visit to Australia.

According to the President's Secretariat, PM Albanese welcomed Prabowo directly at Kirribilli House. Prabowo signed the state guest book as a form of diplomatic respect. After the welcoming procession, the two leaders walked together towards the sitting room for a one-on-one meeting. The meeting took place in a closed format.

According to the President's Secretariat, the meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation in various fields, particularly in economic and developmental sectors, inter-societal relations, defense and security, and maritime issues.

In addition to strengthening the foundation of their seven-decade-long partnership, the two leaders addressed the stability of the Indo-Pacific region and the enhancement of strategic industrial capacity at the bilateral level.

As is known, the partnership between Indonesia and Australia, previously categorized as a Comprehensive Partnership under the Joint Declaration on Comprehensive Partnership on April 5, 2005, has been elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP). In this bilateral visit, the President is accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Teddy Indra Wijaya. Before departing, Prabowo first led a closed-door limited cabinet meeting at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
