TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Walt Disney Company has announced that it will bring its flagship fan gathering to Singapore in June 2027, marking the first time the D23 event will be held in the Asia Pacific region.
As officially announced on D23 website, the multi-day convention, titled "D23 Asia: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event," aims to bring together Disney fans, Hollywood talent, and creators from across the region and beyond for exclusive previews, announcements, and immersive experiences.
The inaugural regional event will take place over three days from June 25 to 27, 2027, occupying parts of the Sands Expo & Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands. Fans will be able to purchase admission passes when ticket sales open in November 2026.
Disney executives highlighted the expansion as a key step in engaging with the company's growing fan base in the region.
"Bringing D23 to Singapore reflects the incredible passion of Disney fans across Asia Pacific and our desire to meet them where they are. D23 Asia will bring these fans together as a community to celebrate the powerful connection they have with our stories, characters, and experiences, and to get an exciting look at what lies ahead," Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer at The Walt Disney Company, said in a corporate statement.
Echoing those sentiments, Carol Choi, Executive Vice President of Integrated Marketing & APAC Original Strategy, noted that hosting the event in Southeast Asia represents a natural evolution for Disney's regional presence.
"D23 Asia will offer fans a truly distinctive experience, with exclusive previews of our APAC Originals for Disney+ and the opportunity to hear directly from the creative talent behind our shows," Choi added.
The upcoming Singapore gathering builds on the global expansion of D23, which launched in 2009 in Anaheim, California, and recently hosted its first Latin American edition, D23 Brazil.
As reported by Disney Food Blog, organizers noted that while the event will maintain the scale and fan-first focus of traditional D23 conventions, the Singapore edition will feature programming tailored specifically for Asian audiences.
