TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The residents of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek area) seem to need to prepare umbrellas and raincoats again on Monday, November 17, 2025. Based on the weather forecast from BMKG, the Jakarta area and its surroundings are expected to be covered with thick clouds and have the potential for light rain.
BMKG predicts that thick clouds will start to arrive at noon at 13:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time) accompanied by the potential for light rain in parts of North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and South Jakarta. Light rain is also expected to occur in the city of Depok, the regency and city of Bogor, as well as the city of Bekasi.
As the afternoon approaches from 13:00 WIB to 19:00 WIB, BMKG notes that there is still a potential for thick clouds accompanied by light rain in the seven aforementioned areas. This potential increases targeting areas in South Tangerang, the city of Tangerang, and the city of Depok.
BMKG notes that today's air temperature varies from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius, except in Bogor, which ranges from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius. The surface wind is predicted to blow from the southwest to west at a speed of 10 to 45 kilometers per hour.
The BMKG team urges the public to be wary of drastic weather changes, from sunny to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds. Drastic weather changes generally occur from noon to afternoon.
In the weekly weather outlook for the period of November 14 to 20, 2025, BMKG does not include Jakarta in the area expected to experience heavy to very heavy rain. However, the metropolitan area is likely to experience strong winds in the sub-period of November 14 to 16, or this weekend.
