TEMPO.COJakarta - Apple is set to host its "Awe dropping" event on September 9 to officially launch the iPhone 17. With the introduction of its new flagship phone, Apple is expected to discontinue seven existing products across its iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods lineups.

According to several reports from 9to5Mac, the company will stop selling four iPhone models: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. These devices will be replaced by the new iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

This change means that all new iPhones on the market after the event will support Apple's new artificial intelligence features. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will still be sold, but with a price reduction of around US$100, while the iPhone 16e will remain as the most affordable model.

In addition to the iPhones, Apple will also discontinue the Apple Watch Series 10 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Following its usual pattern, the company will replace these with the latest-generation models.

While the AirPods Pro 2 may also be discontinued, there is a chance they will remain on sale at a lower price if the new AirPods Pro 3 is released at a higher price.

In total, Apple is expected to discontinue four iPhone models, two Apple Watch models, and one AirPods variant.
