Prabowo departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, to Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport, North Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province, at around 06:00 AM Jakarta time. The visit is intended to ensure that disaster management efforts are running optimally after floods and landslides swept through parts of the island.
According to the official statement from the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo is scheduled to observe the situation on the ground, including in areas suffering damage and disruptions to basic services. He will also ensure that emergency measures are implemented in accordance with rapid, precise, and coordinated disaster response standards.
2. Prabowo in Sumatra: Fuel Distribution Prioritized in Flood-Hit Areas
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said fuel distribution takes priority in areas affected by floods and landslides in Sumatra.
This statement was made by Prabowo during a visit to the disaster-stricken areas in Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra, on Monday, December 1, 2025.

Prabowo also mentioned that the power supplies in the disaster-stricken areas will soon be restored.
During his visit, the head of state extended appreciation toward all agencies that have been working hard and swiftly to mitigate the disaster, particularly the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri), and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).
3. Civil Society Coalition Urges Prabowo to Declare Sumatra Disaster a National Emergency
The massive floods and landslides that struck three Indonesian provinces, namely Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra, have caused extraordinary impacts, casualties, infrastructure damage, property losses, and have paralyzed the economy and social life of the community.
For this reason, the civil society coalition in Aceh is requesting President Prabowo Subianto to immediately declare a national emergency for this disaster.
