TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's West Java region has a variety of tourist destinations in different places that can be visited by travelers during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday. According to the Head of the West Java Tourism and Culture Office, Iendra Sofyan, there are ten locations that became the favorite destinations for people celebrating Eid in 2025. "Ranging from religious tourism, marine tourism, and family recreational tourism," he said on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
The Al Jabbar Grand Mosque tops the list as the favorite tourist destination during the 2025 Eid holiday. The number of visitors was recorded at 362,021 people, surpassing the total of visitors to Pangandaran Beach which came in second at 254,704 people.
Additionally, other tourist locations during the 2025 Eid holiday that were crowded with visitors include Taman Safari Indonesia with 77,576 visitors, Bogor Botanical Gardens (73,238), Batu Karas Beach (67,670), Sari Ater in Subang (55,152), Kejawanan Beach in Cirebon (45,976), Mount Mas Agro-tourism in Bogor (44,754), Kawah Putih (39,804), and Taman Baru Swimming Pool (36,757).

Based on data from the West Java Tourism and Culture Office, the number of visitors to tourist locations experienced an increase from three days before to three days after Eid. In 2024, the number of tourists reached 204,880 people, while in 2025 it became 369,526 people. In total, the movement of tourists in West Java throughout 2025 reached 211.7 million journeys.
Nationally, West Java ranks second after East Java. However, according to Iendra, there is a paradox in the growth of the number of tourists. "Many people visit West Java, but their average stay is only 1.4 nights, usually it is above 2.5," he said. This condition is being evaluated and is a challenge for the tourism office and other stakeholders involved in tourism in West Java.
Meanwhile, Iendra suspects that there are two factors causing travelers not to stay long in a place such as in West Java. The first problem is the lack of exposure to tourist attractions in a particular area. Then it is related to the infrastructure that facilitates tourists to move from one place to another. "Within a week, they can visit four provinces on Java Island," he said.
There is an opportunity from the super peak season anomaly when the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays are close together this year. Iendra said that this condition opens up a big opportunity for a shift in the tourist market from Bali to West Java.
