TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sportswear brand Asics, inspired by the spirit of Move Your Body Move Your Mind, has introduced its newest brand ambassador: a dog named Felix The Samoyed, recognized as one of the world’s most beloved canines.
More than just a pet, Felix represents an inspiring symbol in Asics’ latest global campaign, Mind's Best Friend, which encourages people to become more physically active for the benefit of both their body and mind.
According to a recent global study by Asics, 65 percent of dog owners say their pets are their primary motivation to stay active, surpassing the influence of family, celebrities, or personal trainers.
The study also found that 79 percent of respondents feel more relaxed, and 83 percent feel happier after exercising with their dogs.
Professor Brendon Stubbs of King’s College London, a leading researcher in the field of sport and mental health, analyzed the State of Mind score, an index used to measure overall mental well-being.
His findings reveal that dog owners scored 18 percent higher than those without dogs (61/100 compared to 51/100).
In addition, 81 percent of participants reported that exercising with their dogs had a positive effect on their mental health. The study also noted that dog owners are 31 percent more likely to meet physical activity recommendations, averaging 210 minutes of exercise per week.
Sota Fukushima, President Director of Asics Indonesia, explained that the Mind's Best Friend campaign reflects the company's core philosophy of Sound Mind in a Sound Body.

Through this global initiative, Asics aims to spotlight the vital role dogs play as companions in encouraging movement and well-being, while motivating more people to integrate physical activity into their daily lives.
As a tribute to dogs’ contribution to active living, Asics Indonesia invites the public to share heartwarming stories about their canine companions and nominate them as Mind’s Best Friend ambassadors via the official website asics.co.id/mindsbestfriend-nomination, from May 13 to July 12, 2025.
Twenty selected dogs will be honored with an official ambassadorship certificate and paw stamp, an Asics bandana, dog toys and treats, along with a pair of Asics shoes for their owners.
