TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Some guests attending the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday organized by the United Indonesian People’s Movement (GRIB Jaya) on Jalan Manunggal V in South Kedoya, West Jakarta, did not immediately go home on Tuesday afternoon, August 25, 2026. GRIB Jaya General Chair Rosario de Marshal, better known as Hercules, invited them to discuss a plan.
They knew that two days later, on August 27, the United Pati People’s Alliance (AMPB) would hold a demonstration at the House of Representatives (DPR) building in Central Jakarta. They agreed to prepare measures to anticipate possible unrest after the protest.
The meeting was also attended by H. Kurniawan, General Chair of Gerakan Cinta Prabowo (Love Prabowo Movement). In a statement released by GRIB, Kurniawan said his group and GRIB would prepare to assist security forces if the crowd became uncontrollable.
He did not explain what measures they would take. “The point is, we are on standby 24 hours in Jakarta,” Kurniawan said in a statement issued jointly with Hercules and other leaders of mass organizations on Tuesday, August 25.
