TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - VISA, the global digital payments company, has officially launched Visa Scan to Pay for Quick Response (QR) payments across the Asia Pacific region. The rollout was announced during the Singapore FinTech Festival 2025, held on November 12–14.
Visa Scan to Pay is integrated with a wide range of banking apps and digital wallets throughout the region. According to T.R. Ramachandran, Visa’s Head of Product and Solutions for Asia Pacific, the initiative aims to make everyday transactions faster and more seamless for users.
“As commerce across Asia Pacific becomes increasingly mobile-first, Visa is leading the way with innovations like Scan to Pay that accelerate QR payment adoption,” Ramachandran said in a written statement on Friday, November 14, 2025.
“By enabling millions of merchants to accept secure, seamless payments by tapping or scanning, we're not only expanding digital acceptance but also empowering consumers with more flexible ways to pay - anytime, anywhere.”
Ramachandran noted that Visa is collaborating with numerous banking apps and digital wallets across the region, including Samsung Wallet (Asia Pacific), LINE Pay (Taiwan), VNPT Money (Vietnam), and Woori Card and Hyundai Card (South Korea). Visa is also partnering with QR payment providers such as Lakala (Mainland China), FOMO Pay (Singapore), VNPAY (Vietnam), NextPay (Vietnam), and OpenRice (Hong Kong).
During the festival, Visa also announced a new partnership with PT Espay Debit Indonesia Koe (DANA Indonesia), strengthening the company’s presence in Southeast Asia.
Ramachandran said the partnership forms part of the expansion of the Visa Pay program, which links participating digital wallets to Visa-accepting merchants worldwide, both in-store and online.
Through Visa Pay, consumers can make payments by tapping, scanning, or transacting online using their preferred digital wallets and payment apps.
The launch of Visa Scan to Pay, Ramachandran added, underscores Visa’s strategy to reinforce its role as a digital payment provider that adapts to market demands.
