TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vietnam-based automotive company VinFast is set to introduce electric motorcycles in Indonesia in 2026, expanding its presence in the country’s electric vehicle market.

VinFast Indonesia’s CEO, Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, said the move follows the company’s ongoing efforts to grow sales of electric cars.

“In the near future, we will launch electric motorcycles alongside other environmentally friendly vehicles,” Kariyanto said during a press conference at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE BSD) in Tangerang Regency on Friday, November 21, 2025.

VinFast has so far focused on electric cars in Indonesia, introducing several models, with plans to launch the Limo Green in March 2026. The model was unveiled at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025, alongside the VF Wild.

While VinFast has not yet announced the pricing for these models, the VF Wild is being showcased to potential customers to gather feedback on design and features.

“This customer insight will form a critical foundation for our future development plans for this model,” Kariyanto said.

VinFast aims to roll out its electric motorcycles in the first quarter of 2026, although production has not yet begun at its assembly plant in Subang, West Java.

The company cited the growing demand for daily urban mobility and online transportation as key drivers for launching electric scooters.

“We are preparing both the product and our assembly facilities in Subang,” Kariyanto added.

VinFast’s electric motorcycle lineup includes the Vero X, Feliz, Feliz Lite, Evo Grand, Klara S, and Vento S. These scooters are designed similarly to popular models such as the Honda Scoopy, which currently runs on gasoline in Indonesia.
