1. BTS Tour in Sydney 2027: Here's Price & Pre-Sale Guide

The official ticketing information for BTS’s ARIRANG World Tour stop in Sydney has finally arrived. After roughly four years of hiatus to complete their military service, the group is now officially back on the road for what is expected to become the biggest tour of their career.

For fans in the Harbour City, the excitement goes far beyond a typical concert announcement. The last time BTS visited Australia was during their The Wings Tour in 2017, making the ARIRANG World Tour their first return to the country in nearly a decade.

While the concerts are scheduled for 2027, ticket sales are set to begin this early June. For fans who have missed the group dearly, click here to know about securing tickets and the essential concert details.

2. PLN Must Compensate Sumatra Customers for Massive Outage, Says LBH

The sudden two-day blackout across the Northern Sumatra (Sumbagut) region, which paralyzed Jambi, West Sumatra, Riau, North Sumatra, and Aceh on Friday night, May 22, 2026, has triggered widespread public distress and significant financial losses for customers of state electricity firm PLN.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo has issued an apology for the massive disruption, attributing the power outage to bad weather that damaged a 275-kilovolt (kV) overhead transmission line between Muara Bungo and Sungai Rumbai in Jambi.

However, the explanation contrasts with a forecast from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), which reported only cloudy conditions with light rain in Jambi and surrounding areas.

The discrepancy has prompted the Medan Legal Aid Institute (LBH Medan) to argue that the blackout was not caused by force majeure weather conditions, but rather reflects systemic mismanagement and weak infrastructure oversight that ultimately harmed the public. Click here to read what LBH Medan said in full.

3. Danantara to Evaluate PLN After Widespread Sumatra Blackout

Chief Operating Officer of the National Energy Investment Agency (BPI Danantara), Dony Oskaria, has confirmed that an evaluation will be conducted on PT PLN (Persero) following the major power outage in Sumatra, Indonesia.

The incident, which occurred on Friday, May 22, 2026, affected the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, and Jambi, and disrupted various public facilities. Recovery efforts are currently being carried out gradually across the affected regions in Sumatra.
