TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The management of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) Branch Office of Adi Soemarmo Airport, Solo, Central Java, joyfully welcomes the return of its international airport status. The airport's status is designated according to Decision KM 37 of 2025, issued by the Minister of Transportation, regarding the designation of international airports.
Among the 36 public airports designated as international airports through KM 37 of 2025, one of them is Adi Soemarmo Airport. Previously, Adi Soemarmo Airport obtained international airport status, which was revoked in 2024 through Minister of Transportation Decision Number 31 of 2024.
Adi Soemarmo Airport's General Manager, Erick Rofiq Nurdin, stated that with the return of its international status, the airport can become a hub to drive the growth of the national aviation industry.
"We hope that airlines will reopen international flight routes from Adi Soemarmo," said Erick to reporters on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Erick conveyed that in terms of facilities, infrastructure, and services, Adi Soemarmo Airport is ready to serve international flights. Since the revocation of its international status in 2024, Adi Soemarmo Airport has continued to operate smoothly for Hajj and Umrah flights in accordance with the designation by the Ministry of Religious Affairs as Embarkation and Debarkation for Hajj, as well as the designation by the Ministry of Transportation as an airport that can serve Umrah flights.
"We also expect full support from the regional government and all stakeholders to complete the administrative requirements that must be fulfilled by the Provincial Government and Adi Soemarmo Airport within 6 (six) months from the designation of KM 37 of 2025," he said.
After being designated as an international airport, Erick stated that Angkasa Pura, together with the Central Java Provincial Government, is obligated to fulfill several administrative requirements, such as a recommendation letter from the Minister of Defense, a recommendation letter for the placement of work units and personnel from the ministers in charge of customs, immigration, and quarantine.
"We are currently preparing. We ask for your support so that international flights at Adi Soemarmo Airport can soon be available to the Solo Raya community," said Erick.
