TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit held at the International Congress Center, Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, on Monday, October 13, 2025. This high-level forum brought together several world leaders to witness the signing of a peace agreement and an end to the war in Gaza.
The Presidential Secretariat reported that upon arrival at the International Congress Center, Prabowo was greeted personally by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The two shook hands and exchanged warm greetings before proceeding to the main waiting room.
In that room, Prabowo met with several world leaders attending the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit. The Head of State also interacted with several world leaders.
Afterward, Prabowo and the leaders of the countries participating in the summit headed to the group photo area. Before the group photo, each leader posed for a photo with US President Donald Trump, Co-Chair of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit. The heads of state shook hands and chatted with President Trump during the photo session.
Following the photo session with Trump, all the leaders of the countries participating in the summit posed for a group photo. Prabowo stood in the front row, flanked by French President Emmanuel Macron and the Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Following the photo session, Prabowo and the other heads of state proceeded to the main hall for the signing of the peace document. The document was signed by US President Donald Trump, President El-Sisi, President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Other leaders, including Prabowo, witnessed the signing ceremony.
Prabowo's presence at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit affirms Indonesia's strong commitment to creating peace in the face of conflict and championing humanity at the global level. Before the head of state departed for Egypt, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that Indonesia had accepted an invitation to the Gaza peace summit on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
"The invitation requested President Prabowo's attendance because it is part of the ongoing negotiations, which, God willing, will hopefully bring peace to Palestine, especially in Gaza," Prasetyo said after a meeting at Prabowo's residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, South Jakarta, on October 12, 2025. Prasetyo said that President Prabowo had advised all parties to maintain good relations, and for that reason, he decided to attend the invitation.
