TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received a phone call from South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on Monday evening, June 24, 2025. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the two heads of state discussed the current global situation. However, he stopped short of providing specific details of the conversation.
"The two leaders also exchanged views on the development of the global situation and agreed to continue and strengthen the partnership between the two countries," Teddy said in a statement on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
According to him, President Lee also expressed appreciation for Prabowo's attention and congratulations on his victory in the Republic of Korea's presidential election on June 3, 2025.
"President Lee expressed his gratitude for the congratulations letter from President Prabowo for President Lee's victory in the presidential election held on June 3, 2025, and he was immediately inaugurated the next day," Teddy added.
Lee conveyed his desire to make a state visit to Indonesia soon. Teddy emphasized that South Korea is one of Indonesia's crucial partners in trade and investment, noting that bilateral cooperation between the two countries continues to show a very positive upward trend.
"The Republic of Korea is one of Indonesia's main partners in trade and investment, where bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and the Republic of Korea continues to show a very good increasing trend," he concluded.
