TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) responded to the discrepancy in the initials of the suspected perpetrators in the acid attack on Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), Andrie Yunus, compared to the version provided by the Indonesian National Military (TNI). The Director of General Crime Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, stated that the police will collaborate on the findings of the investigation and inquiry.
"Certainly, we from Polda Metro Jaya, and later together with the TNI, will collaborate on the findings of the investigation and inquiry," he said at the Headquarters of Jakarta Metro Police, South Jakarta on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
Iman stated that they are both committed to revealing this case as transparently as possible. Furthermore, President Prabowo Subianto has given directions to reveal the case of the acid attack."
"So, we are both committed, whether it's the TNI, Polri, in accordance with the President's instructions to reveal this case clearly and transparently," said Iman.
Previously, Polda Metro Jaya revealed the initials of two suspected perpetrators of the acid attack on Andrie Yunus. According to the police, two individuals with the initials BHC and MAK were the executors who threw acid on Andrie's body.
Meanwhile, on the same day, the TNI also revealed the initials of four soldiers allegedly involved. The four soldiers have been detained at the Military Police Command of the Jayakarta Military Command or Pomdam Jaya since Wednesday morning. The four include NDP, SL, BHW, and ES.
They are members of the Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS TNI) from the air and naval forces. NDP holds the rank of captain, while SL and BHW hold the rank of first lieutenant, and ES is still a second sergeant.
"This morning, I have received individuals suspected of being involved in the assault on Andrie Yunus," said TNI Military Police Commander Major General TNI Yusri Nuryanto at Mabes TNI, Jakarta, on Wednesday afternoon.
