TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower announced that more than 62,000 participants have passed the second batch of the national internship program, following a selection process held from October 24 to November 11, 2025.
Head of the Manpower Planning and Development Agency, Anwar Sanusi, said a total of 62,754 candidates were initially declared successful.
“After verification, 62,128 internship participants are taking part in today’s kickoff event, both online and offline,” Anwar said during his remarks at the ministry’s Jakarta office on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
The ministry reported that 4,669 companies have registered as partner organizers for this batch, offering more than 42,000 internship slots.
In addition to private-sector partners, organizers also include government institutions, both ministries/agencies (K/L) and non-K/L bodies. Overall, the second batch drew 188,000 registrants.
Manpower Minister Yassierli added that participation across the first and second batches has now reached 80,000 people. The government aims to enroll 100,000 internship participants next year, and registration for the third batch is already open.
“Companies have begun uploading and proposing vacancies within their institutions,” he told reporters.
The national ready-to-work internship program is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s 8+4+5 economic stimulus package and is targeted at university graduates who completed their studies more than a year ago.
The government has allocated funding to provide participants with a stipend equivalent to the local minimum wage, with each internship running for six months.
