TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division of Jasamarga recorded a surge in traffic on several toll roads in Greater Jakarta and West Java during the Easter holiday this year. The peak of traffic occurred on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
Widyatmiko Nursejati, the senior general manager at the Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division, said a total of 155,695 vehicles left Greater Jakarta for Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and the Puncak area. This accounted for a 10.52 percent increase compared to the normal traffic volume of 140,879 vehicles.
Meanwhile, a total of 83,520 vehicles were also recorded passing through the Cengkareng Toll Gate, an increase of 0.90 percent from the normal traffic of 82,775 vehicles. At the Benda Utama Toll Gate, 33,543 vehicles were recorded, a 23.66 percent increase from the normal traffic of 27,125 vehicles.
"The biggest surge occurred at Ciawi 1 Toll Gate, which recorded 38,632 vehicles, up 24.70 percent compared to the 30,979 vehicles during normal traffic,” said Widiyatmiko in a written statement on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
Meanwhile, in West Java, about 76,258 vehicles headed for Bandung and Rancaekek, an increase of 12.21 percent from 67,963 vehicles in normal traffic. Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Bandung for Jakarta amounted to 62,087 vehicles, a 12.84 percent increase from the normal traffic of 55,021 vehicles.
The traffic flow in this area was distributed through the Cileunyi and Pasteur Toll Gates on the Padaleunyi toll road. The number of vehicles heading to Jakarta through the Cileunyi Toll Gate was recorded at 30,736 units.
Meanwhile, the reverse flow of vehicles, heading towards Rancaekek and Garut through the Cileunyi Toll Gate, was recorded at 37,457 vehicles, a 27.18 percent increase from the normal traffic.
A growing traffic also occurred at the Pasteur Toll Gate. On Thursday, a total of 31,351 vehicles were recorded leaving Bandung, a 9.53 percent increase from the normal volume of 28,623 vehicles. Meanwhile, the number of vehicles entering Bandung through the same gate was recorded at 38,801 vehicles, a slight increase of 0.76 percent from the normal traffic.
Widiyatmiko urged travelers to be careful on their trip, ensuring their vehicles are in top-notch condition. Widiyatmiko also emphasized the importance of using the same e-toll card when passing through toll roads with a closed transaction system, such as the Cipularang, Padaleunyi, and JORR II toll sections to avoid disruptions amid the journey.
