TEMPO.CO, Mataram - A new flight route between Lombok and Labuan Bajo will soon be operating. This route adds an option to support the connectivity of Indonesia's tourism destinations, especially in the eastern region.
The Lombok (LOP) - Labuan Bajo (LBJ) flight and vice versa will operate starting from July 22, 2025. The flight will be served by Wings Air, with a frequency of three flights a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Lombok Airport General Manager, Stephanus Millyas Wardana, stated that the inter-provincial connectivity of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) will facilitate tourists and the general public in reaching the super-priority destinations of Lombok in NTB and Labuan Bajo in NTT. "The presence of this new Lombok-Labuan Bajo route will further strengthen the connectivity between the leading tourist destinations in the eastern region of Indonesia," he said.
This flight route uses ATR 72-500/600 aircraft with 72 seats. The flight schedule from Lombok to Labuan Bajo, served by Wings Air IW 1951, departs at 11:10 WITA (Indonesia Central Time) and arrives at 12:25 WITA. Meanwhile, the flight from Labuan Bajo to Lombok with Wings Air IW 1950 departs at 09:30 WITA and arrives at 10:50 WITA.
Millyas appreciated Wings Air for its commitment to opening flight routes between Indonesia's leading tourist destinations. "We hope that this route can encourage the growth of the tourism sector, expand economic opportunities, and support the government's target in developing priority national tourism destinations," he said.
With this route, Lombok Airport will serve twelve domestic routes, namely Jakarta, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Bali, Bima, Sumbawa Besar, Makassar, Balikpapan, Palangkaraya, Banjarmasin, Semarang, and Labuan Bajo. Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Pelita Air, Lion Air, Batik Air, Super Air Jet, and Wings Air serve the flights.
As for international routes, Lombok Airport currently has two active routes to Kuala Lumpur served by Indonesia AirAsia, AirAsia Berhad, and Batik Air Malaysia, and to Singapore with Scoot.
"We continue to encourage the presence of potential new routes to support tourism development, expand connectivity, and improve services to Lombok Airport users," said Millyas.
