TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), the operator of Indonesia’s Whoosh high-speed railway, is offering tickets from Rp8,800 ($0.55) for the Jakarta-Karawang route and vice versa to mark Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day.
KCIC Corporate Secretary General Manager Eva Chairunisa said the promotions aim to provide more affordable travel options during the extended Independence Day holiday.
“Through these various promotions, people can enjoy more affordable travel on Whoosh,” Eva said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Sunday, August 16.
The Rp8,800 promotional fare is available from August 7 to 17, 2026, for travel on any date, with tickets sold through Tiket.com.
KCIC is also offering promotional fares starting at Rp88,000 for the Jakarta-Bandung route and vice versa.
The promotional tickets are available in limited quantities through flash sales held daily from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Jakarta time.
KCIC is also offering discounts of up to Rp200,000 through Traveloka using the coupon code 88WHOOSHSERU.
The Traveloka promotion is available for purchases made from August 3 to 23, 2026, subject to certain terms and conditions. Transactions of at least Rp350,000 are eligible for a discount of up to Rp150,000.
Meanwhile, purchases for at least two passengers with a minimum transaction value of Rp300,000 qualify for a discount of up to Rp180,000. Round-trip ticket purchases are eligible for discounts of up to Rp200,000.
KCIC will also hold flash sales every Thursday and Friday at 11 a.m. during the promotional period, offering a 15 percent discount of up to Rp88,000 for transactions of at least Rp350,000.
Eva urged passengers to book early as several departures during the holiday period could sell out quickly.
KCIC also reminded passengers to purchase tickets through official sales channels and check the promotional periods, availability, and terms and conditions for each offer.
