TEMPO.CO, Solo - Foreign investors are beginning to take notice of the Solo Raya agglomeration, said the chair of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) in Solo, Ferry Septha Indrianto on late Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Some of these investors are from Korea, Japan, and China.
The Solo Kadin chair revealed this during the opening of the Solo Raya Trade, Tourism, and Investment Expo (STTIE) 2025 held at De Tjolomadoe Karanganyar, Central Java, on Wednesday.
STTIE 2025 serves as a platform to introduce various potentials in the Solo Raya, or Greater Solo, region, especially in the trade, tourism, and investment sectors. This event is part of the Solo Raya Great Sale 2025 program, which will run until August 3, 2025.
"During this event, we will provide data on the existing potentials in the Solo Raya region to prospective investors. According to information from the Chair of Kadin Central Java, there are (investors) from three countries, Korea, China, and Japan," l Ferry told reporters.
According to Ferry, the most crucial aspect of STTIE 2025 is how to build a framework for agglomeration in terms of investment ecosystem. Each region within the Solo Raya region, which includes Solo, Karanganyar, Sukoharjo, Wonogiri, Sragen, Boyolali, and Klaten, have been using their own resources thus far.
"We want to break that system so going forward, in regards to the investment, the tangible assets may be Sragen, Solo, or Boyolali, but in an intangible sense, Solo Raya can be utilized. This, in my opinion, can boost competitiveness, efficiency, and a better human resource, making us more attractive to investors," he added.
The Secretary of the Central Java Provincial Government, Sumarno, stated that the Central Java government appreciates the implementation of STTIE 2025, which is part of this year's Solo Raya Great Sale program.
"In addition to trade and tourism transactions, we must push for investments in Solo Raya. With this agglomeration model, we hope that the investment offers will encompass the concept of Solo Raya and not constrained within each region," he said.
The local government also hopes that the implementation of STTIE 2025 can run smoothly because in the future, it will be a model for creating similar events in other agglomeration areas.
The Solo Raya Great Sale 2025 event, the committee recorded a total of Rp10.6 trilliom in transaction as of Wednesday evening, with the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS) transactions reaching Rp3.2 trillion.
"The involvement of MSMEs and traditional markets recorded a transaction frequency of 422 thousand worth Rp660 billion," said Ferry, who also serves as the chair of the Solo Raya Great Sale 2025 committee.
