TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Senior lawyer Hotma Sitompul passed away today around 11.15 AM WIB (Western Indonesia Time). Hotma passed away after undergoing intensive treatment at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Kencana, Central Jakarta.
"Yes, Hotma Sitompul passed away today, April 16, 2025, at 11.15 AM WIB," said Hotma Sitompul Law Firm advocate, Nico Poltak Sihombing, when contacted by Tempo via messaging application on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
The remains will be laid in the funeral home located at Jalan Pangeran Antasari Number 79 A, Cilandak, South Jakarta.
Meanwhile, the burial procession itself is planned by the family to be held the day after tomorrow.
"Info from the family, the plan (for the late Hotma) is to be buried on Friday," continued Nico. However, it is still unknown where exactly the cemetery location for the deceased body will be.
Hotma Sitompul, whose full name is Hotma Parapatuan Daniel Sitompul, was born on November 30, 1956, in Tanah Karo, North Sumatra. He earned his law degree from Gadjah Mada University (UGM).
Hotma began his career as a lawyer at the Legal Aid Institute (LBH) Jakarta together with Adnan Buyung Nasution. However, since 1980, Hotma chose to establish his own law firm, Hotma Sitompul Law Firm.
On July 8, 2002, Hotma established a non-profit legal aid organization named LBH Mawar Saron. The organization also became a part of the Hotma Sitompul Foundation.
