TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) has served 8.23 million travelers in approximately 62,000 flights during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
"The total number of passengers is cumulative from 37 airports during the period of December 15 - 31, 2025," said InJourney Airports CEO, Mohammad Rizal Pahlevi, on Friday, January 2, 2026.
Airport operations during the year-end holiday also run smoothly, attributed to thorough preparation and close collaboration between stakeholders.
According to Rizal, the highest passenger traffic before Christmas was on December 24, with approximately 543,000 passengers. Then, the highest passenger traffic before the new year was on December 28, 2025, with 531,140 passengers.
To accommodate holiday travelers, airlines also prepared 1,725 extra flights. Rizal mentioned that the slot time at the airports was also quite high during the Nataru departure surge. "The cumulative slot time utilization at all airports reached nearly 90 percent," Rizal said.
The busiest airports in terms of passenger traffic were Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang (2.86 million passengers), I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali (1.18 million passengers), Juanda Airport in Surabaya (703,000 passengers), Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar (493,000 passengers), and Kualanamu Airport in Deli Serdang (380,000 passengers).
InJourney Airports has also been gearing up for the holiday return flow, which is expected to peak on January 3 and 4, 2026. "InJourney Airports' main focus during the return flow remains on security, safety, and airport services. Close collaboration continues among all airport stakeholders to ensure proper handling of flight traffic and airline passenger movements," said Rizal.
