TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s commuter rail operator KAI Commuter is offering discounted fares on the Commuter Line Basoetta, the airport train service connecting central Jakarta with Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 holiday season.
The year-end promotion applies to trips scheduled between December 22, 2025, and January 5, 2026, with tickets priced at Rp50,000 (around US$3) per passenger, according to KAI Commuter Vice President for Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda.
“The special promotional tickets are intended to encourage the public to use the Commuter Line Basoetta to and from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport during the year-end holidays,” Karina said in a written statement on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
She explained that the discounted tickets are available in limited quantities each day and must be purchased through the C-Access ticketing application. Tickets can be booked starting seven days before the scheduled departure.
The promotion is specifically available for passengers traveling on the Commuter Line Basoetta route between Manggarai Station, BNI City, and Duri, to and from Soekarno-Hatta Airport Station.
“With this promotion, we hope more people will choose the Commuter Line as a practical option to reach the airport in just 39 minutes,” Karina said.
Karina also emphasized that Basoetta Commuter Line e-tickets are valid only for the passenger and route listed on the ticket, in accordance with the scheduled departure and arrival stations. The e-ticket also functions as an access pass at both entry and exit gates at Basoetta Commuter Line stations.
Throughout 2025 up to December 20, KAI Commuter recorded around 2.27 million passengers using the Basoetta Commuter Line. During the Christmas and New Year holiday season, the number of users is projected to exceed 106,000, marking a three percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
To meet the expected surge in demand, KAI Commuter will operate up to 70 Basoetta Commuter Line trips per day. The service also serves as an alternative mode of transportation for residents in the Tangerang area traveling to central Jakarta and vice versa.
“KAI Commuter remains committed to continuously improving services for all users,” Karina said.
To ensure a smooth journey, KAI Commuter advises passengers with domestic or international flights to board the Basoetta Commuter Line at least two to three hours before their scheduled departure.
