GOOGLE has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI)-based application called Doppl. The app is launched on a limited basis for users in the United States and is available on iOS and Android devices.
Currently, Doppl is only available on iOS and Android devices and can only be used by users in the United States who are at least 18 years old. Quoted from Google Labs, the Doppl app supports the trial of clothing categories such as tops, bottoms, and dresses. Other categories such as shoes, underwear, swimwear, and accessories are not yet supported in accordance with Google's Generative AI policy.
About Doppl
Doppl is the latest experimental application from Google Labs designed to help users try on clothes virtually using a digital version. "We hope Doppl will help you explore your style in new and exciting ways," said Product Manager of Google Labs, Sakshi Rambhia, quoted from Google Blog, Thursday, June 26, 2025.
Google recommends users to upload high-quality images of their body and clothing. For body photos, it is recommended to use a minimum resolution image of 512 x 1024 pixels that shows the entire body from head to toe with a plain background. The lighting should be bright and even to facilitate accurate visualization by the AI.
How to Use Doppl
- Log in to your Google account. Next, agree to Google's terms of service and policies that apply to Doppl usage.
- Upload a full-body photo without any other objects around. Users can also choose built-in AI model photos from Google as an alternative if the user does not have a personal photo.
- Then choose the initial clothing provided in the app to see the first virtual appearance.
- After the initial appearance is confirmed, users can upload photos or screenshots of other clothes they want to try.
- Once the desired clothing is found, users can click the animation button to see a moving display in the form of a short video.
- Finally, all visualization results can be saved or shared to various platforms through the share button available in the app.
