TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Google Cloud in collaboration with the Ministry of Indonesian Communication and Digitalization (Komdigi) officially launched the "Google for Startups Accelerator Southeast Asia: Indonesia, AI-Focused" program at the Google Cloud Summit Jakarta 2025. This program is aimed at startups based in Indonesia that are developing products with generative or agentic AI technology as their main foundation.
This program expands Google's support for local startups, which has contributed more than a quarter of the participants to the regional accelerator program thus far. About 57 Indonesian startups, such as Gojek, NOICE, Aruna, Sekolah.mu, and Kata.ai, have become alumni of this program and played a significant role in the national digital economy. Nearly 70 percent of Indonesian unicorns currently use the Google Cloud platform for their solutions.
Google Cloud's Country Director for Indonesia, Fanly Tanto, revealed the economic potential that can be achieved by adopting cloud and AI technology. "According to research from Public First, local startups and small businesses can obtain an economic value of around Rp990 trillion by 2030 if they effectively adopt Google Cloud Platform services," he told reporters at the Ritz-Carlton, Jakarta, on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Meanwhile, Minister of Komdigi Meutya Hafid appreciated this initiative in a written statement. "This aligns with Indonesia's ambitious vision for Golden Indonesia 2045, in which technology, particularly AI, is anticipated to promote equitable and sustainable economic growth," she said.
"We believe, with support from the entire ecosystem, Indonesian youth will be part of the future solution and bring Indonesia's name to the international stage," Meutya continued.
The first wave of this program is open to 20 startups that will undergo intensive training for three months starting in September 2025. This program is equity-free and provides several benefits, including $350,000 worth of Google Cloud credits, full access to Google Cloud AI technology, training at the Digital Innovation Hub Komdigi, and guidance from Google experts and ecosystem partners such as Alpha JWC Ventures, DANA Indonesia, Monk's Hill Ventures, and others.
The selected startups can also showcase their products to investors at the Demo Day event.
