TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. has resumed its Jakarta–Doha flight service starting Saturday, June 28, 2025. The decision follows the reopening of Qatari airspace, which had previously been affected by the conflict escalation in the Middle East.
Garuda Indonesia’s Director of Operations, Tumpal M. Hutapea, said that the resumption of the round-trip route between Jakarta and Doha came after a thorough evaluation and close coordination between Garuda Indonesia and Qatar Airways, its operational partner.
"This decision is based on information from the relevant cross-border authorities. It also considers the current regional geopolitical situation in Middle Eastern airspace, which is now showing more stable conditions," he said in a written statement received in Tangerang on Saturday, June 28, 2025, as reported by Antara.
Tumpal noted that several other international airlines have also restarted flights to Qatar. Garuda Indonesia, he added, will continue to monitor the situation in coordination with the relevant aviation authorities to ensure flight safety on this route.
"This will be done in collaboration with aviation authorities in both Indonesia and Qatar, as well as with Qatar Airways," Tumpal said.
The airline is conducting intensive monitoring of flight operations to the Middle East to ensure that service recovery proceeds smoothly. Garuda Indonesia also advised all passengers traveling to or from Doha to regularly check their flight status via the airline’s official information channels.
"Passengers can access updates through our website, mobile app, or by contacting the 24-hour Contact Center at 0804 1 807 807 for domestic calls or +62 21 2351 9999 for international calls," Tumpal added.
