TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 53rd annual International Emmy Awards ceremony was held on Monday night, November 24, 2025, in New York, United States. Winners were selected from 64 contestants across 16 categories.
The British television industry was the biggest winner of the night, sweeping seven awards, including Best Drama, Best Comedy, Best Actress, and Best TV Movie/Mini-Series. Meanwhile, Spain secured two awards, and Japan, Germany, Australia, Qatar, Canada, Denmark, and Turkey each received one award.
Special Honors
Dana Walden, Disney Entertainment Vice Chair, was presented with the special International Emmy Founders Award. The accolade recognized her three-decade career in the television industry.
"I know this award is typically given to the people who create the stories. And rightfully so. But I view this honor as recognition of a vital partnership," Walden said in her acceptance speech, as quoted by Variety.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, this year’s award recipients also included Joao Roberto Marinho, chairman and president of Grupo Globo, who received the Directorate Award to honor his leadership in strengthening independent journalism and the cultural impact of his group.
