TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo, also known as Dito Ariotedjo, was present today during the trial of former Minister of Religious Affairs, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, for the alleged corruption involving additional Hajj quota for the 2023-2024 period.
The presiding judge at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Ni Kadek Susantiani, first asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor, "To the public prosecutor, how many witnesses will be presented?" she asked.
"Today, the public prosecutor will present four witnesses," the prosecutor replied. Dito was the first witness to enter the courtroom, wearing a dark blue shirt.
According to Tempo's records, Dito Ariotedjo has been questioned twice by KPK investigators: on January 23, 2026, and June 30, 2026.
Other witnesses presented were Muhammad Tauhid Hamdi, President Director of PT Alhamdi Global Wisata and former Treasurer of the Association of Indonesian Muslim Hajj and Umrah Organizers (AMPHURI) for the 2017–2023 period. Also present were Slamet, Head of the General Bureau of the Ministry of Hajj, and Bayu Putra, an honorary employee at the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah Organizations at the Ministry of Religious Affairs for the 2019–2023 period.
Facts of the Case
KPK has indicted four individuals in the alleged corruption case involving the additional Hajj quota. In addition to Yaqut, there are also former Special Staff to Yaqut, Ishfah Abidal Aziz, also known as Alex; Operational Director of Maktour, Ismail Adham; and former Chair of the Indonesian Hajj and Umrah Tour and Travel Association, Asrul Azis Taba.
As reported by Antara, the four were charged with causing state losses amounting to Rp622.09 billion. They are suspected of diverting and arranging the allocation of the 2024 additional special Hajj quota by 50 percent without a technical review.
Furthermore, KPK prosecutors accused them of filling the 2023 and 2024 additional special Hajj quotas with special Hajj pilgrims without a waiting period (T0) and special Hajj pilgrims with a waiting period of x years (Tx), in violation of established procedures.
The prosecutors stated that the quota filling was carried out to accommodate requests from the Special Hajj Organizers Association (PIHK). This was accompanied by the receipt of expedited fees from pilgrims and special Hajj officials.
For their actions, the defendants are suspected of violating Article 603 in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of the Criminal Code or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Law, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001.
