TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Wearing light-brown jackets, six middle-aged men visited the private residence of Indonesia's seventh president, Joko Widodo, in Solo, Central Java, on Monday, June 15, 2026. Their clothing bore emblems featuring the face of Jokowi's eldest son, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The visitors identified themselves as leaders of a volunteer organization called Militan Gibran Nusantara (Nusantara Gibran Militant).
Militan Gibran Nusantara Chair Andi Azwan said the organization was established only on May 20, 2026, in South Jakarta. The group is not unfamiliar to Jokowi because many of its members previously served as Jokowi volunteers in various organizations, including Jokowi Mania (Joman). Andi himself is a former Deputy Chair of Joman, which later changed its name to Prabowo Mania 08. "We reported the formation of Mas Gibran's volunteer organization," Andi said in Central Jakarta on Thursday, June 18.
Andi said the purpose of Militan Gibran Nusantara is to support a politician capable of continuing Jokowi's programs from his 2014-2024 presidency. He believes Gibran is the right figure to ensure the continuity of those programs.
Andi and his colleagues spent nearly an hour in discussion with Jokowi. They explained the group's planned activities across various regions. Andi also asked whether Jokowi would be willing to serve as the organization's patron. "We want to ensure that the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran partnership lasts for two terms," said Andi, who was once a member of the National Democrat (NasDem) Party.
