Elon Musk Bids Farewell to Trump with Black Eye Amid Rumored Drug Use

1 day ago 5

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Billionaire Elon Musk bid farewell to President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Friday, May 30, 2025. He appeared with a black eye, sparking rumors of drug abuse. While bidding farewell, Elon Musk pledged to remain a friend and advisor to Trump.

Elon Musk wore a black t-shirt with white "Dogefather" lettering and a black DOGE baseball cap. He stated that most of his saved trillion dollars would take time to bear fruit. "I look forward to continuing to be a friend and advisor to the president," he said.

Many people were more interested in the dark black bruise around Musk's right eye. Speculation about the cause of Elon Musk's black eye grew stronger. On Friday, The New York Times alleged that Elon Musk had used so much ketamine during the 2024 campaign that he suffered bladder problems.

However, Elon Musk denied this. The SpaceX and Tesla tycoon stated that his young son caused his black eye.

"I was just horsing around with lil' X, and I said, 'Go ahead punch me in the face,'" said the 53-year-old Musk. "And he did. Turns out even a five-year-old punching you in the face actually is..." Musk told before stopping, as quoted by Al Arabiya.

Elon Musk avoided questions about drug allegations.

The New York Times stated that Musk, the largest donor to the 2024 Trump election campaign, also consumed ecstasy and psilocybin mushrooms and traveled with a pill box last year. Elon Musk, however, diverted the issue.

"Is that the same publication that got a Pulitzer Prize for false reporting on the Russiagate?" Musk said. He referred to the claim that the 2016 Trump election campaign colluded with Moscow. "Let's move on. Okay. Next question."

Later that day, when a reporter asked Trump if he was aware of Elon Musk's routine drug use, Trump only replied, "I think Elon is a fantastic guy," Trump said.

The White House previously downplayed the report. "The drugs that we're concerned about are the drugs running across the southern border," said Trump's Deputy Chief of Staff, Stephen Miller, whose wife works for Musk.

Elon Musk had previously admitted to using ketamine. He said that he was prescribed the drug to treat negative mental conditions. He stated that the drug use benefited his work.

Musk left the Trump administration stressed. He admitted to being disappointed with his role and criticized the Republican president's spending plans.

While bidding farewell, Trump praised Elon Musk's exceptional service. After four tumultuous months, Trump insisted that Musk "really will not leave." During the past four months, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) slashed tens of thousands of jobs, shuttered entire agencies, and cut foreign aid.

"He's going to be back and forth," Trump said. He praised the tech tycoon, calling his government reform program the most comprehensive and impactful in generations.
