TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Rain drenched parts of Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) again on Sunday morning, February 1, 2026, after warm weather with no rain for most of yesterday. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early weather warning stating that several areas in North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and Tangerang Regency on the north coast had experienced moderate to heavy rain.

Similarly, several areas in Bekasi Regency in the north and parts of Bogor Regency bordering Banten also experienced rain. The rain then spread to most of Greater Jakarta.

In the early weather warning, which was in effect from 6:45 a.m. to 10:08 a.m. this morning, only Bogor City and parts of Bogor Regency in the southeast were not affected by rain. However, according to the BMKG website, these areas still have the potential for rain today, although only light rain—the same as other areas in Greater Jakarta.

The BMKG continues to urge Jakarta and its surrounding areas to be prepared for heavy to very heavy rain today. Jakarta received this status, along with South Sumatra, Banten, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, and West Sulawesi.

Meanwhile, from Friday morning to Saturday morning, heavy rain in Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) occurred, especially on the north coast of Jakarta, Tangerang, and Bekasi. From Thursday morning to Friday morning, heavy rain was more evenly distributed throughout Greater Jakarta, with extreme rain in Bogor and its surrounding areas. Rainfall throughout the day reached 255 mm in Atang Sanjaya, Bogor.

Continuing the previous day, heavy rain was widespread, with very heavy rain recorded in several locations in Jakarta, Bogor, and Bekasi. Throughout Tuesday, heavy rain was recorded in the southern part of Greater Jakarta, with extreme rainfall of 170 mm recorded at the Bogor Botanical Gardens.
