TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts weather conditions in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi regions to be mostly sunny with some cloudy periods today, Friday, August 1, 2025. However, in Bogor and Depok, there is a potential for light intensity rain tonight.
According to BMKG's prediction, clear and partly cloudy weather is expected in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands throughout the day. Overall, the air temperature in Jakarta is estimated to range from 25 to 34 degrees Celsius, with wind speeds of 1 to 22 kilometers per hour.
Near Jakarta, light rain is likely to occur in Bogor Regency, Bogor City, and Depok City between 7 PM and midnight. However, before the rain, Bogor is also expected to be sunny from morning until late at night. Other areas, such as Bekasi Regency and Bekasi City, will experience mostly sunny and partly cloudy periods. The same goes for Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang City.
Heavy Rainfall in Bogor Every Day
Thus, the potential for rain in the Bogor region has persisted in the last few days, while other areas in the Jabodetabek region have generally started to experience less rain. Despite BMKG's weather forecast mentioning the potential for light rain, the actual occurrence could be more significant.
Starting from last Sunday, July 27, the Bogor region experienced heavy rainfall, as reflected by the 122 mm recorded at the Bogor IPB Automatic Weather Station, which is considered very heavy rain. On the same day, heavy rain was also identified through measurements at the Atang Sanjaya and Bogor Botanical Gardens stations.
The following Monday, heavy rainfall was recorded at the Katulampa station. The recorded 77.8 mm from this location is the highest figure in the BMKG's weather monitoring stations across Jabodetabek. Still, on Monday, several other areas in Jakarta and Tangerang were also hit by rain.
Last Tuesday, the Atang Sanjaya station in Bogor again reported a very high rainfall figure of 167 mm, which is considered extreme rain. The same happened last Wednesday with a recorded 186 mm. On that Wednesday, the recording in Leuwiliang, Bogor, reached 90.8 mm, which is considered heavy rain.
